Requirements analysis, deliverables definition and acceptance criteria. At the end of this phase you know exactly what you'll get, in what timeframe, and at what price, before we start building. Scoping is always included, whatever the size of the project. If you've already done a Spark Blend, the Spark cost is credited back against the Tech quote.

Frequently asked questions
Why "never by the hour"?
Hourly pricing hurts everyone. You don't know how much you'll spend, we're incentivized to go slow. Tech Blend always sells per project with deliverables and acceptance criteria defined during scoping. You know the cost before starting.
What if complications come up during development?
If scope changes during development, we flag it immediately with a dedicated extension (to be approved before continuing). Conversely, if we find the work takes less than expected, we credit you the difference.
What happens after release?
We cover every bug within the deliverable scope for free for 30 days post-release. For evolutions or new features, we open a new Tech Blend (faster, since context is already there) or suggest a Care Blend if needs become recurring.
Can I request scoping only?
Yes. Scoping is Phase 1 and is available separately as a Spark Blend, with scoping document and detailed estimate. If you proceed with Tech Blend, the scoping cost is credited back against the quote.
Do you work on WordPress? Even with third-party themes?
Yes to both. We develop custom WordPress plugins. For third-party themes, we evaluate case by case, if the theme is solid we build on top, if it's a mess we propose cleanup (Recovery Blend) or rebuild (Core Blend). Never patches on patches.
Do we own the code?
Yes. All the code developed is your property, with essential documentation. No lock-in, no licensed components. You can hand off maintenance to anyone. We propose Care Blend to those who want us to keep doing it, fewer gray zones with the same developers who wrote the code. But you're free to choose otherwise.
